Plain terms, plainly stated.
What you can expect from this site, what an application does and doesn't create, and who owns what.
Using this site
This site presents the work of Idea to Stage and accepts applications to work with us. You are welcome to read it and to apply. Please do not scrape it, republish it, or present its contents as your own.
An application is not an engagement
Submitting an application or booking a call creates no obligation on either side. We may decline, and you may withdraw. Work begins only when both parties have signed a written agreement that sets out scope, fees and timing.
What we promise about stages
We guide clients through applications and selection for stages where ideas are taken seriously, and we prepare them properly for the rooms they reach. We do not guarantee placement on any particular stage, at any particular event, or by any particular date. Selection decisions belong to the organizers of those stages, not to us.
Podcast bookings are different: on our podcast plans, the number of bookings is guaranteed as described on that page, including replacements if a show cancels.
Your ideas stay yours
The idea you describe in an application remains entirely your intellectual property. We treat applications as confidential and use them only to assess whether we are a fit.
Our material stays ours
The writing, design and marks on this site belong to Idea to Stage. Client talks are shown with our clients' permission and remain theirs. Typefaces and code libraries remain the property of their owners and are used under their licences.
Examples on this site
Some material, such as the sample notebook, script, delivery notes and rehearsal log on our homepage, is illustrative and labelled as such. It shows how the work looks, not a specific client's material.
No warranties, and limits on liability
This site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site.
Outcomes vary
Results depend on the idea, the work and the person doing it. Nothing on this site promises a particular outcome.
Changes
We may revise these terms. The current version will always live at this address, with its date below.
